What you stop doing

Bath Day, Minus Everything You Hate About It

Plenty of Tracy days start in the dark on the Altamont and end in the dark coming back over it, which leaves the weekend for everything else. A salon drop-off and pick-up eats the middle of a Saturday. We groom from 8 in the morning to 8 at night, seven days a week, so the visit can land on an evening or a weekend, and the van comes to you. On the newer streets of Tracy Hills, Ellis and Redbridge, the driveways are wide and flat, and the groomer backs in and has warm water running in a few minutes. Downtown, around Eleventh Street and Central Avenue, the older lots are narrower and the spot is usually the curb out front. Either way it goes the same: you hand your dog over at the door, go back to your day, and about two hours later your dog comes back clean, dry and brushed, without a minute in a car or a crate.

No crawl on 205 or over the Altamont on 580.

We Groom. You Get Your Day.

The groom happens at your curb, so the drive, the drop-off and the pickup fall off your to-do list.

The four steps

Notes
  1. Step 1

    Book in Two Minutes

Pick a day, pick a time, tell us about your dog. Done. We confirm the day before.

  2. Step 2

    We Come to Your Door

Your groomer texts when they are on the way, then the van pulls up to your curb with its own warm water and power. No drive, no cages, no waiting room.

  3. Step 3

Your Dog Gets the Whole Van

One groomer, one dog, start to finish. No other dogs, no crate, no rushing. You get on with your day.

About 120 min · about 180 for large dogs
  4. Step 4

Back in Your Arms, Fresh and Dry

Clean coat, trimmed nails, clean ears, fully dry, and a tail that will not stop wagging. Both handoffs together take about five minutes.

In our example salon morning, about 2 h 30 min goes to driving, traffic and the counter. With Wow My Dog, the groom happens at your curb while you get on with your day: about 5 min of handoffs, so about 2 h 30 min back.

I've been using Wow! My Dog for probably over a year now to groom my two babies Willa & Ernie. I've used a few different groomers through them and they've all been really great. I was DEVASTATED to find out Angie will no longer be working with them as she was so beyond amazing while taking care of my dogs. I'll miss her SO much and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors! Communication has always been great, and I always receive a heads up if they're running ahead or slightly behind of expected window time. My dogs also always look so cute after their grooming. Can't rave about this company enough!

Camilo did a great job with out pup! Even though she was scared of the dryer, he didn't force her to dry. If I could rate 10 out of 10 I would.

From the start, Ingrid and team were extremely responsive and communicative. We had (at the time) 5 month old puppies and it was their first time so I wanted them to have a good experience. We had Mauricio and he was amazing! Very attentive and took good care of our pups.

Once again, Jose did an unbelievably amazing job on my dog Sofie! He is so incredibly skilled at his work, and manages to get my very anxious and nervous girl comfortable enough to allow him to groom her. When he carried her back out to me, I was absolutely stunned at how good she looked. The prices are SO affordable as well! Never going anywhere else to get her groomed :) will add photos in a bit.

Snapshot 01 · Parks

Duke's, the dog park on Summit Drive

The City of Tracy lists 84 parks, and Duke's Dog Park, at 4355 Summit Drive, is the one built entirely around dogs: a 2.60-acre neighborhood park given over to an off-leash area where they can run, play and meet each other, with a grassy field, young trees and a shaded pavilion with picnic tables for the people. Across town, El Pescadero Park on Kavanagh Avenue, 14.62 acres, is being renovated, and the city plans to bring back its dog park along with the playground, skate area and walking paths.

Schack Park, Tracy Hills' newest lawn

Daniel Ray Schack Park, at 2982 Frost Street in the Tracy Hills neighborhood, opened in July 2025. Its 5.7 acres hold a dog park, a lit walking loop, tennis and pickleball courts, a playground, barbecues and shaded picnic tables, and a decomposed-granite trail runs from the park out to the Tracy Hills open space. The park is named for Daniel Ray Schack, a longtime Tracy resident. For a Tracy Hills dog it means the run is a walk from home, and so, now, is the groom.

The Tracy dog license, done online

Tracy dogs need a city license once they reach four months, and a new dog or a family that just moved to town has 30 days to get one. The Tracy Police Department's Animal Services sells it online: $37 for one year, $74 for two or $111 for three, with a valid rabies certificate, a spay or neuter certificate if it applies, and a photo ID. A renewal more than 30 days late adds a $35 fee. Keep that rabies certificate somewhere easy to find; it is the paper everyone asks for first.

Groomer's note, coat care around Tracy: Tracy summers run long, hot and dry, and the wind coming through the Altamont pushes field dust into every coat in town. Huskies, shepherds and the other double coats blow their undercoat for months, and the loose fluff that stays behind mats up and holds the dust. A warm-water bath, a long blow-out and a full brush-out lifts that loose undercoat out before it ends up on the couch, and a double coat stays a double coat: we never shave it for summer. In the foggy valley winter, when mornings barely warm up, the van heats its own water, so the bath is warm from the first rinse to the last.

Pre-groom checklist · Tracy
Which parts of Tracy do you cover?

All of Tracy. That includes Downtown and the older streets around Eleventh Street, the neighborhoods along Tracy Boulevard, Corral Hollow Road and Grant Line Road, Ellis and Redbridge on the west and south sides, and the new homes of Tracy Hills. Mountain House, Lathrop and Manteca are on the same Central Valley routes, so an address near the city line is no problem. Share your full address when you book and we confirm it.

I commute over the Altamont every weekday. Can you groom in the evening or on a weekend?

Yes. We groom 8AM to 8PM, seven days a week, so an evening slot after your drive home or a Saturday or Sunday visit both work. You only need to be there at the start and the end: about five minutes to hand your dog over and get them back. In between, a groom usually takes about 120 minutes, or about 180 for a large dog. Weekend mornings go first, so book as early as you can.

Our husky sheds all through the Tracy summer. Should we shave him?

No, keep the coat and book a de-shed instead. A double coat protects your dog from the sun and the heat as well as the cold, so shaving it does more harm than good. Every four to six weeks through the hot months, a warm-water bath, a long blow-out and a full brush-out pull the loose undercoat out by the handful. Double Coat Premium includes the full de-shed, and your groomer trims feet and sanitary areas so the coat stays neat.

Can you groom our cat in Tracy as well?

Yes, at every Tracy address. Cat grooming happens in the same quiet van, one-on-one with no dogs around: a Cat Bath is a flat $140 and a Cat Bath + Haircut a flat $180, with the same care as the matching dog package. A long-haired cat shedding through a valley summer stays comfortable on a regular schedule. Bring your cat out in a carrier, and the groomer lets them set the pace.
