Mobile grooming basics
What happens at a visit, what's included, and how we work with your dog.
How long does an appointment take?
A groom usually takes about 120 minutes. Larger dogs take about 180 minutes. The exact time depends on your dog's size, coat and package. We work one-on-one with your dog, so we never rush, and your groomer gives you an estimate when they arrive. Booking more than one pet? Plan on about 120 minutes per pet, or about 180 for a large dog.
Link to this answerWhat's included in every appointment?
A warm-water shampoo and conditioner bath, a blow dry, a nail trim with filing and buffing, ear cleaning and a full brush-out, every visit, done one-on-one by the same groomer from start to finish.
Link to this answerHow does mobile grooming work at my home?
The van parks at your driveway or curb with its own warm water and power, so it needs nothing from your home. You hand your dog over at the door, about five minutes in all, and one groomer does the whole groom inside the van: a warm-water bath, blow dry, nail trim and buffing, ears and a full brush-out, with no cages and no other dogs. A groom takes about 120 minutes, about 180 for a large dog. Then the door opens and your dog walks back in clean, dry and rather proud of it.
Link to this answerWhat services do you offer?
Dogs have three packages: Bath, Bath + Haircut and Premium. The Bath covers shampoo, conditioner and blow dry, a nail trim with filing and buffing, ear cleaning and a full brush-out. Bath + Haircut adds the haircut with face, feet and sanitary trim. Premium is the Bath plus teeth brushing, paw & nose conditioning, a light fragrance spray and a bow or bandana, with the haircut included for Long Hair and Doodle coats and de-shedding for Double Coats. Cats have two options: Cat Bath and Cat Bath + Haircut. See them all on our services overview.
Link to this answerWhy choose Wow My Dog?
We handle every pet with care and affection, and we come to you. Grooming at home is much less stressful for most pets than a salon, and it saves you the drive, the drop-off and the wait. One groomer works with your pet one-on-one, and we are licensed and insured.

How to book, our hours, and what happens on the day.
Do I need to be home during the grooming?
Only at the start and the end. Someone hands your pet to the groomer when the van arrives and is there when the groom is done; in between, you are free to go. Your pet is never left unsupervised. If you can't be back in time, ask someone you trust to take your pet back and make the payment.
Link to this answerHow far in advance should I book?
As early as you can: the sooner you book, the more windows you get to pick from, and weekend mornings go first. Need something sooner? Call or text (408) 520-4800 and ask about cancellation openings on your route; with 15+ vans on the road, there is usually one worth asking about.
Link to this answerWhat are your hours?
8AM to 8PM, seven days a week, for grooms and for calls and texts, in every service area. A message sent after closing gets its reply the next morning. Morning windows suit the hot inland cities like Stockton and Sacramento; evening ones suit commuters. Call or text (408) 520-4800 and we match a window to your day.
Link to this answerHow do I book an appointment?
Tap Book Now on any page. It opens our online calendar, where you pick a date, a time and the package that suits your pet. Prefer to talk to someone? Call or text (408) 520-4800, 8AM to 8PM, seven days a week.
Link to this answerWhat happens on the day of my appointment?
We confirm your appointment the day before. When your groomer is on the way, they send you an arrival time, and they call when they get there. Tell us about any special requests, like parking the van next to your apartment building, meeting you at your door, or waiting while you bring your dog outside.

How a quote is built, how to pay, and our cancellation policy.
How much does mobile grooming cost?
A dog Bath is from $80, a Bath + Haircut from $125 and Premium from $100. Cats are a flat $140 for a Cat Bath or $180 for a Cat Bath + Haircut. Your dog's exact price depends on coat, weight and package, travel is included in every city we serve, and you see the full quote before you book.
Link to this answerHow does pricing work?
By your pet's coat type, weight and the package you pick, plus any add-ons, each with its own price. Cats are one flat price per option. Every price is on our pricing guide.
Link to this answerIs there a travel fee?
No. Travel to your home is included in the groom price for every city we list, whether the van is heading to Noe Valley or to Elk Grove. Your quote comes from your dog's coat, weight and package, and nothing is added for the drive inside our service areas. Live in a town next door that we don't cover yet? We may still come for a flat $50 out-of-area fee, always quoted before you book, never after the groom.
Link to this answerHow can I pay?
Cash, check, Zelle or credit card, whatever is easiest for you. Paying by credit card adds a 4% fee. Your groomer takes payment at the end, once your pet is groomed and ready to go.
Link to this answerHow do I cancel my appointment?
Text us at (408) 520-4800, the sooner the better. Cancelling within 24 hours of your appointment has a $50 cancellation fee.

How we handle nervous or difficult dogs, fleas and ticks, and what we leave to your vet.
What if my dog is anxious or has never been groomed?
Tell us, and we plan for it. We groom nervous and first-time pups every day: your groomer goes slow, takes breaks and lets your dog set the pace, one-on-one, with no other dogs around. A note when you book is all it takes.
Link to this answerHow often should my dog be groomed?
Every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on your dog's coat. Your groomer can suggest a schedule once they get to know your dog. Regular grooming is good for your dog's health, not just their looks.
Link to this answerDo you remove fleas and ticks?
Yes, when it's needed or when you ask. Our groomers use a flea and tick shampoo that kills adult fleas, ticks and their eggs, which helps keep them from coming back. It's a $15 add-on.
Link to this answerDo you express anal glands?
No. We leave anal gland expression to veterinarians. Groomers press on the outside of the glands, which can leave fluid behind, so problems come back sooner, and it raises the risk of a gland rupturing. It also can't catch thickening or growths. A vet expresses the glands from the inside, empties them fully and checks them for changes.
Link to this answerDo you groom aggressive dogs?
Yes. How we work depends on each dog, and safety always comes first. A special-handling charge may apply. Please tell us when you book, so we can set aside enough time for your dog's appointment.
Link to this answerCan I stay and watch?
We ask that you don't. With pet parents or kids watching, most pets get excited and move around, and groomers work with sharp tools, so a moving pet is easier to nick. Please keep away from the van while we groom. It's only about your pet's safety, never about you.
