Your driveway is the salon. Tell us about a gate, a hill, an apartment curb or a tight street when you book, and the van shows up with a plan.
What you stop doing
Martinez is built on hills that roll down to the Carquinez Strait. Downtown, the older streets near the water are narrow and the houses sit close to the curb; up in Alhambra Valley, Hidden Valley and Holiday Highlands the driveways are longer and some of them steep. Either way, a salon run means Alhambra Avenue or Pacheco Boulevard twice in a day, once to drop off and once to collect. The van takes both trips off your list. The groomer parks at your curb or in the driveway, levels the van and fills the tub from its own heated tank, so the rinse runs warm even on a gray, breezy morning by the strait. Downtown, where a space can be hard to find, tell us about the street when you book and the stop is planned before the day. Your dog stays home, and you get the two hours back.

How it works · your time back
The groom happens at your curb, so the drive, the drop-off and the pickup fall off your to-do list.
Salon day vs. Wow day

NotesPick a day, pick a time, tell us about your dog. Done. We confirm the day before.
Your groomer texts when they are on the way, then the van pulls up to your curb with its own warm water and power. No drive, no cages, no waiting room.
One groomer, one dog, start to finish. No other dogs, no crate, no rushing. You get on with your day.
About 120 min · about 180 for large dogsClean coat, trimmed nails, clean ears, fully dry, and a tail that will not stop wagging. Both handoffs together take about five minutes.
In our example salon morning, about 2 h 30 min goes to driving, traffic and the counter. With Wow My Dog, the groom happens at your curb while you get on with your day: about 5 min of handoffs, so about 2 h 30 min back.

I have nothing but great things to say. We have an anxious German shepherd and always were scared to have her groomed so we did it ourselves but she really needed to have her coat blown out- they were responsive and reassuring! We did mobile grooming and our dog had a great experience and amazing groom!

I often get my dachshund Brownie groomed. Luis and Emerson always do a wonderful job at grooming my baby. Thank you as always :)

Revising my review. Again. We had an issue with his cut before today, but Wow MD called an offered to make it right. Had to wait a while because it's not good to groom a dog too often. Today they fixed the issue. (Mostly - the previous cut is unfixable on one leg and we're just hoping it grows back!) Giving Wow MD five stars based on today's service.

Our French bulldog Rusty had an amazing experience with Juliana. We received a grooming report with photos and it was so convent and arrival was on time. The entire process was so smooth and I’m so glad I found Wow! My dog! Rusty looks so clean and smells fresh! Thank you so much!

The Martinez Dog Park, at 115 Tarantino Drive in the marina, started as a temporary site. In April 2017 the City Council set aside part of the John Muir Amphitheater, near the Yacht Club, for dogs, and the park opened on July 14, 2017. It has a large-dog run for dogs over 30 pounds and a small-dog run for those under 30. It is open from sunrise to dusk, except on Monday mornings, when it stays closed until noon for maintenance, and events at the amphitheater can close it too. Park in the marina lot or behind the bait shop and walk in from there; Tarantino Drive has no sidewalk.

Snapshot 02 · Shoreline
Ted and Kathy Radke Martinez Regional Shoreline spreads along the water beside the marina, with nearly three miles of trails, ponds and creeks, open lawns and the Pickleweed Trail through the marsh. The East Bay Regional Park District renamed it in December 2016 for Ted Radke, a district board member from 1978 to 2014, and his wife Kathy. Dogs are not allowed in the marsh, at the duck pond or in the park's other interior areas, and in the parking lots they stay on a six-foot leash. Parking is free, and the main lawn opens at 8 a.m. and closes between 5 and 8 p.m. depending on the month. The ballfield in the city-run eastern section has carried the name of Joe DiMaggio, who was born in Martinez, since 1979.

The John Muir National Historic Site, at 4202 Alhambra Avenue, keeps the house where the naturalist lived, and the National Park Service welcomes leashed pets on its grounds, though not inside the Muir home or the Martinez Adobe. The visitor center and grounds are open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and parking is free. A quarter mile south on Alhambra Avenue, beside Franklin Canyon Road, is the trailhead for Mount Wanda, named for Muir's eldest daughter: 326 acres of oak woods and grassland, open daily from sunrise to sunset, where leashed dogs may hike the trails. The first mile climbs at an average grade of 13 percent, and there is no water up top, so carry enough for two.
Pets at John Muir National Historic Site, National Park ServiceGroomer's note, coat care around Martinez: Martinez dogs come home from two kinds of walk. Mount Wanda and the hills around Alhambra Valley are gold, dry grass from late spring until the rains, which means dust in the undercoat and foxtails in the ears, armpits and toes. The shoreline trails by the marina are the opposite: wind off the strait, damp grass and, after a winter storm, mud up to the elbows. A warm-water bath, blow-out and brush-through at your curb resets the coat after either one, and your groomer checks paws and ears for awns at every visit. Long-coated hikers do well on a shorter trim around the feet and ears through the dry months.

Yes, the whole city: Downtown and the streets by the waterfront, the neighborhoods along Alhambra Avenue and Pleasant Hill Road, Alhambra Valley and Alhambra Hills, Hidden Valley, Hidden Lakes off Morello Avenue, Holiday Highlands, Golden Hills and Pine Meadow. Pleasant Hill, Pacheco and Concord are next door on the same routes, so an address near the line is easy. Share your full address when you book and we confirm it.
At your curb or the nearest legal space on your block. The van needs one spot it can hold for about 120 minutes (about 180 for a large dog); if your street is tight or has a time limit, tell us when you book and the groomer works out the stop before setting out, then texts when they are on the way. The van carries its own warm water and power, so nothing runs from your house, and travel is included in the groom price for every Martinez address.
Every four to six weeks from spring until the rains, and a little less often in winter. The dry grass on the hill is the issue: foxtails work into the ears, armpits and the fur between the toes, and dust settles deep in a double coat. At each visit your groomer checks those spots, combs out what the trail left behind and tells you if an awn looks embedded, which is a job for your vet. A tidy trim around the feet and ears between hikes gives the grass seed less to grab.
Yes, anywhere in Martinez. Cat grooming happens in the same quiet van, one cat with one groomer and no dogs on board. The Cat Bath is a flat $140 and the Cat Bath + Haircut a flat $180, with the same care as the matching dog package. Carry your cat out in a carrier; if they are shy with strangers, say so when you book and the groomer takes it slowly.
