Your driveway is the salon. Tell us about a gate, a hill, an apartment curb or a tight street when you book, and the van shows up with a plan.
What you stop doing
Pittsburg climbs away from the river. Old Town and the blocks around the Marina sit flat by the water, and the newer streets rise south past Leland and Buchanan roads into Highlands Ranch, San Marco, Vista Del Mar and Oak Hills, where parks like Oak Hills look out over Suisun Bay. From up there a salon visit is two trips down the hill and two back. The van makes it none. Most of the hillside homes have a driveway, so the groomer pulls in, finds the flattest spot and runs the bath from the van's own heated tank. The wind off the river can make a winter morning raw, and the water stays warm from the first rinse to the last anyway. In Old Town, where the houses sit close and parking is tighter, tell us about the curb when you book and the stop is planned before the day. Your dog walks out to the van and back home, and never rides anywhere.

NotesPick a day, pick a time, tell us about your dog. Done. We confirm the day before.
Your groomer texts when they are on the way, then the van pulls up to your curb with its own warm water and power. No drive, no cages, no waiting room.
One groomer, one dog, start to finish. No other dogs, no crate, no rushing. You get on with your day.
About 120 min · about 180 for large dogsClean coat, trimmed nails, clean ears, fully dry, and a tail that will not stop wagging. Both handoffs together take about five minutes.
In our example salon morning, about 2 h 30 min goes to driving, traffic and the counter. With Wow My Dog, the groom happens at your curb while you get on with your day: about 5 min of handoffs, so about 2 h 30 min back.

Patricia and Philepe were absolutely amazing! Our dogs are usually a little nervous around new people, but they took the time to pet them and get to know them which made the dogs feel comfortable. The grooming results were absolutely perfect and we couldn’t be happier! Thank you!

I used Wow for the 1st time about 8 weeks ago and loved the results and felt the groomer (Camilio) really did an exceptional job. A neighbor is now going to try them also on my recommendation. Eva has never smelled so good!

Wow! My dog is an amazing service. They come to you with a groomer that is skilled and kind. My dog, Ms. Lady, loves them so much that when she sees their familiar grooming van she becomes so excited. The quality of the final grooming is excellent, I feel like a dad wanting to share my kid's wallet pics. I highly recommend!

Wow My Dog is a premium mobile grooming service. While not inexpensive, it’s well worth it for convenience and quality. Excellent company.

Real parks, real trails, and what they do to a coat. Notes from the groomer's side of the van.

Snapshot 01 · Downtown
John Buckley Square, at 515 Railroad Avenue, is the 2.4-acre park in the heart of Old Town Pittsburg: a big lawn with a walking loop, bocce courts, a play area, restrooms and a stage for performances. It carries the name of Pittsburg Police Officer John Buckley, a World War I veteran and holder of the department's Gold Medal of Valor, who died in the line of duty in a shooting outside the Paloma Café on December 13, 1935. A plaque in the square honors him. The park is open from sunrise to sunset and takes no reservations, so an evening loop with the dog fits easily on a groom day.

Snapshot 02 · Waterfront
Central Harbor Park, at 1 Marina Boulevard next to the Yacht Club, is a 1.5-acre lawn on the edge of the Pittsburg Marina, with a public boat launch, benches, seating walls, restrooms and a long view of the Delta. Its gazebo is Boatwright Plaza, named for Pittsburg resident and former Senator Dan Boatwright, and it can be rented for a party. The two totem poles on either side of the small fishing dock and the fish statue beside the gazebo came from Shimonoseki, Japan, Pittsburg's sister city, and were dedicated on November 16, 1999. Like the other city parks, it opens at sunrise and closes at sunset.

Snapshot 03 · Marina
The City of Pittsburg runs the marina north of downtown, on the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers, with San Francisco Bay to the west and the Delta to the east. In season, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, paddles and life jackets included, can be reserved online or by phone. Trailered boats use two concrete ramps with long wooden docks, which reopened with new restrooms and a fish-cleaning station; small boats go in at a gated ramp beside the Harbormaster Office, opened on request from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The harbor and fuel dock are closed on Sundays.
Pittsburg Marina, San Francisco Bay Area Water TrailGroomer's note, coat care around Pittsburg: Pittsburg dogs get the river and the dry hills in the same week. A walk to the end of the half-mile jetty at Riverview Park, where locals fish through salmon season, can send a dog home damp and smelling of the Delta, and the paved Delta de Anza Trail past Los Medanos College and Marchetti Park adds summer dust and the odd foxtail from the grass along its edges. A warm-water bath and a full blow-out at your curb clear both, and your groomer checks ears, armpits and toes for awns every visit. Double-coated breeds get a longer blow-out from spring on, so less undercoat ends up on your couch.

Every part of Pittsburg: Old Town and the streets by the Marina, the neighborhoods around City Park and Central Park, Americana off North Parkside Drive and California Seasons off Willow Pass Road, and up the hill to Highlands, Highlands Ranch, Oak Hills, San Marco and Vista Del Mar. Antioch and Concord are on the same Highway 4 routes, so an address near either line is no trouble. Share your full address when you book and we confirm it.
Yes. Giacomelli Park, at 2011 West Leland Road between Vista Del Mar and San Marco, has fenced areas for large and small dogs and is open from sunrise to sunset. Two more city parks are set up for dog walkers: John Henry Johnson Park on West Leland Road has a 0.62-mile path around its edge, a dog-friendly drinking fountain and a pet station with cleanup bags, and Larry Lasater Park, with its Delta views, has a pet-friendly fountain too. After a dusty afternoon at any of them, a bath in the van at your curb is the easy way to finish the day.
Yes. The van needs one legal space it can hold for about 120 minutes (about 180 for a large dog), and a driveway or the curb in front of the house both work; on a steep block the groomer picks the flattest spot close by. Tell us about the slope or any gate code when you book. The van runs on its own warm water and power, so nothing comes from your house, and travel is included in the groom price for every Pittsburg address.
Yes, at every Pittsburg address. Cat grooming takes place in the same self-contained van, one cat and one groomer with no dogs on board: the Cat Bath is a flat $140 and the Cat Bath + Haircut a flat $180, with the same care as our dog Bath and Bath + Haircut. Bring your cat out in a carrier and the groomer takes it from there; a long-haired cat that mats over the summer stays comfortable on a regular schedule.
