What you stop doing
Ceres is a small city with a big neighbor. Modesto starts right at its northern edge, so a lot of Ceres errands, a salon visit included, turn into a drive up Highway 99 or Mitchell Road and back, twice in one day. A groomer at your house skips both trips. The van parks in your driveway, your dog walks out the front door into a one-on-one groom, and about two hours later walks back in clean, dry and brushed, while you get on with your afternoon. On a weekend when the kids have soccer at River Bluff, that is two hours you do not spend waiting in a lobby. Summer heat and winter fog both count too. The van brings its own warm water and power, so the bath is warm on a grey December morning, and the groom happens indoors, away from the July sun.

NotesPick a day, pick a time, tell us about your dog. Done. We confirm the day before.
Your groomer texts when they are on the way, then the van pulls up to your curb with its own warm water and power. No drive, no cages, no waiting room.
One groomer, one dog, start to finish. No other dogs, no crate, no rushing. You get on with your day.
About 120 min · about 180 for large dogsClean coat, trimmed nails, clean ears, fully dry, and a tail that will not stop wagging. Both handoffs together take about five minutes.
In our example salon morning, about 2 h 30 min goes to driving, traffic and the counter. With Wow My Dog, the groom happens at your curb while you get on with your day: about 5 min of handoffs, so about 2 h 30 min back.

Amazing experience today with Rene! I was a bit anxious since it was the first grooming appointment for my 9-month-old Golden Retriever. She was indeed a little afraid, but Rene took exceptionally good care of her, taking the time to comfort her. She came back perfectly groomed, looking happy and with a big smile! I highly recommend !

This is my 2nd time booking with Wow! My dog, and the service was amazing! My dog came out cuter than ever! My dog had some slight matting and they got rid of it completely without shaving him down all way! Highly recommend.

Wow! My dog is an amazing service. They come to you with a groomer that is skilled and kind. My dog, Ms. Lady, loves them so much that when she sees their familiar grooming van she becomes so excited. The quality of the final grooming is excellent, I feel like a dad wanting to share my kid’s wallet pics. I highly recommend!

Real parks, real trails, and what they do to a coat. Notes from the groomer's side of the van.

Snapshot 01 · Parks
Ceres looks after eleven public parks, and Neel Park, at Boothe Road and Helen Perry Road, is the one with a dog area. It shares the park with play equipment, fitness stations, a basketball court, shaded spots, picnic tables and a big grass field, so a walk there can be a long loop for you and a run for your dog. The city's page lists no hours or rules for the dog area, so call the Recreation Department at 209-538-5628 before an early or late visit. Grass seed and dust from the open field are what usually come home in the coat.

Snapshot 02 · River
River Bluff Regional Park sits on Hatch Road: 76 acres, half of them sports fields, with six soccer fields, playgrounds, a picnic shelter and parking for 400 cars. The best part is the edge. An observation deck looks out over the lower terrace, 38 acres in the 100-year flood plain that the city is returning to its natural state, with biking and hiking trails planned. A walk along the bluff ends with dusty paws in summer and muddy ones after rain, and the groomer floats the grit out with a long warm-water rinse before any shampoo.

Snapshot 03 · Access
From October 1 to January 9 the city collects leaves and limbs every other week, on the day after your recycling pickup. Piles go out loose, at least a foot from the curb, with limbs cut to four feet or less; apartment complexes and businesses are not part of the program. On your street-sweeping day, the city asks for cars, and basketball hoops, off the street. Neither gets in the van's way: it parks in your driveway. If the curb is the only option, mention your pickup or sweep day when you book and we plan around it.
City of Ceres leaf and limb programGroomer's note, coat care around Ceres: Ceres coats live between yards, ball fields and the river bluff. Summer bakes the open ground, and by June the dry grass along fences and empty lots is full of foxtails, the barbed seed heads that work into ears, noses and the skin between the toes; the groomer checks all three on every visit. Sprinkler-wet lawns and winter fog keep a thick coat damp underneath, which is how mats start. A warm-water bath, a full blow-dry and a careful brush-out lifts the dust and the damp alike, and long coats and doodles stay easy on a steady schedule.

Yes, every street in Ceres: Downtown, Eastgate, the neighborhoods off Whitmore Avenue, Mitchell Road, Service Road and Morgan Road, and the homes near River Bluff on Hatch Road. Modesto, Turlock, Salida and Ripon share our Modesto Area routes, so an address on the city line is no trouble. Travel is part of the groom price at every Ceres address; put the full address in your booking and we confirm it.
No. The van parks in your driveway, so a pile a foot off the curb stays exactly where the city crews expect it. If the street is the only place to park, tell us when you book and the groomer finds a spot nearby; the van brings its own warm water and power and stays about 120 minutes, closer to 180 for a large dog. Please leave the pile as it is rather than moving it for us.
Usually, yes. There is no car ride, no lobby full of barking and no waiting for a turn, just one groomer, one dog and a quiet van parked outside his own front door. Tell us what worries him when you book: you are not warning us, you are asking us to take good care of him, and that is exactly what we are here for. The groomer goes at his pace, takes breaks when he needs them and starts with a slow warm-water rinse before anything else.
Yes, at every Ceres address. Cat grooming takes place in the same quiet van, one groomer and one cat, never a dog on board. The Cat Bath is a flat $140 and the Cat Bath + Haircut a flat $180, each with the same care as the matching dog package. Long-haired cats that shed through the valley summer do well on a regular schedule; tell us how your cat feels about handling and the groomer lets them set the pace.
