Your driveway is the salon. Tell us about a gate, a hill, an apartment curb or a tight street when you book, and the van shows up with a plan.
What you stop doing
Foster City is flat, planned and full of water, which makes it the easiest town on the Peninsula for a grooming van and the trickiest for a wet dog. Half the pet parents here live in condos and townhome communities on the lagoon, where there is no yard to hose off a muddy Lab and no spare bathroom to lose to a long-haired cat. So the salon parks in your guest space or at the curb outside your gate. It carries its own warm water, so the bath stays warm when the bay wind is up, its own power, and a dryer that sends your dog back up the stairs fully dry. You give us the gate code and the spot; the lagoon walk can wait until after.

Salon day vs. Wow day

NotesPick a day, pick a time, tell us about your dog. Done. We confirm the day before.
Your groomer texts when they are on the way, then the van pulls up to your curb with its own warm water and power. No drive, no cages, no waiting room.
One groomer, one dog, start to finish. No other dogs, no crate, no rushing. You get on with your day.
About 120 min · about 180 for large dogsClean coat, trimmed nails, clean ears, fully dry, and a tail that will not stop wagging. Both handoffs together take about five minutes.
In our example salon morning, about 2 h 30 min goes to driving, traffic and the counter. With Wow My Dog, the groom happens at your curb while you get on with your day: about 5 min of handoffs, so about 2 h 30 min back.

Gustavo blew my expectations away with his work on my dog Maggie. He arrived on time and I shared that Maggie has had bad experiences with groomers in the past. He was patient with her, sent a reassuring message and took his time with her haircut. I sent a photo of the haircut I wanted for Maggie and Gustavo gave her one of the best haircuts she's had. When he dropped her off he told me that she did well during the groom and Maggie even said goodbye to him which is a sign of a good relationship between them. A nice touch was the grooming report I received at the end with a cute photo. My long time search for a groomer has ended and I'll be booking with Gustavo from now on!

Patricia and Philepe were absolutely amazing! Our dogs are usually a little nervous around new people, but they took the time to pet them and get to know them which made the dogs feel comfortable. The grooming results were absolutely perfect and we couldn’t be happier! Thank you!

Real parks, real trails, and what they do to a coat. Notes from the groomer's side of the van.

Snapshot 01 · Parks
Foster City's dog park sits in Boat Park at the corner of Foster City Boulevard and Bounty Drive: two fenced areas, one for dogs 26 pounds and under and one for the rest, on synthetic grass and decomposed granite, open daily from dawn until 10 p.m. Three dogs per adult, leash in hand, and no puppies under six months. Five more parks, Boothbay, Catamaran, Edgewater, Farragut and Sea Cloud, allow off-leash dogs in marked areas from 5 to 8 a.m. (until 9 on Sundays), never on the synthetic turf.

Snapshot 02 · Levee
The city was built in the 1960s on the old hayfields of Brewer's Island, and the levee that keeps the bay out now carries the Levee Pedway, a leashed-dog loop with bag dispensers along the way. Foster City's stretch of the Bay Trail starts at the end of Marina Lagoon, follows Belmont Slough as it widens toward the bay, rounds the shoreline and passes under the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge toward San Mateo. Inside the levee, a 200-acre lagoon winds through the whole four-square-mile town.
Foster City Levee Pedway
Snapshot 03 · Access
The city itself says it: many Foster City residents live in condominiums, apartment complexes or other housing with limited space for pets to run, which is why it built the dog park and put bag dispensers on the Pedway. For a groom, it means the van needs a spot your community allows a service vehicle to hold for about two hours: a guest space, a loading area or the curb outside the gate. Check your HOA rules, then give us the gate code and the spot when you book.
Foster City facilities for petsGroomer's note, coat care around Foster City: Foster City dogs are bay dogs. The wind off the water carries salt and fine grit into the coat, the lagoon paths leave goose droppings and mud between the paw pads, and a damp sea breeze keeps a thick coat from ever quite drying on its own. A warm-water bath, full blow-out and brush-out gets the salt out and the undercoat moving, and your groomer dries right down to the skin so nothing stays damp under the top coat. Double-coated and doodle-type dogs do best on a regular schedule here, with a bath-only visit after a muddy winter week.

All of Foster City, island to island: Bay Vista, Treasure Isle and Marina Point on the lagoon, Edgewater, Sea Cloud, Boothbay and Catamaran toward the bay, Isle Cove and Harbor Side, and the apartments around Metro Center. San Mateo, Belmont and San Carlos are on the same routes, so a street on the city line is no problem. Share your full address when you book and we confirm it.
In whatever spot your community lets a service vehicle hold for about two hours: a guest space, a loading area or the curb outside the gate. Most Foster City HOAs allow one of those, so check your rules, then give us the gate code and the spot when you book. The van carries its own warm water and power, so it needs nothing from your building, and travel is included in the groom price for every Foster City address.
Every four to six weeks for most lagoon regulars, with a bath-only visit in between after a muddy winter week. Goose droppings and lagoon mud collect between the paw pads and in the belly coat, and salt from the bay wind dries the top coat, so your groomer rinses with warm water before shampooing and finishes with a full blow-out and brush-out. They suggest a rhythm once they have seen your dog's coat in person.
Yes. Cat grooming is available at every Foster City address, condos and apartments included. The van parks in a guest space or at the curb, you carry your cat down in a carrier, and the groomer works one-on-one in a quiet van with warm water and no dogs around. A Cat Bath is a flat $140 and a Cat Bath + Haircut a flat $180, flat, with no surprises at the door.
