One is long-haired and requires a little extra time and attention, and Rene is incredibly patient, thorough, and detail-oriented. No off-leash in town parks
Town code does not allow off-leash dogs in any Los Gatos park. Local dogs run free at the county dog park in Los Gatos Creek County Park, just over the line in Campbell, reached by car or along the Los Gatos Creek Trail. In town, every walk is a leashed walk.

Leashed laps at Vasona Lake
Vasona Lake County Park, at the north edge of town, welcomes dogs on a leash, and the Los Gatos Creek Trail runs straight through it. The lake loop is flat and easy. Damp lawns and muddy shoreline paths are why a bath often comes due before the haircut does.

St. Joseph's Hill trails
St. Joseph's Hill Open Space Preserve, south of downtown, allows leashed dogs on all of its trails. The climb is steep, and the dry grass and chaparral send dogs home with burrs, foxtails and dusty coats. Check ears and paws after the hike; we check them again before the bath.

Which parts of Los Gatos do you cover?
All of Los Gatos, including downtown, Almond Grove, Vasona, Blossom Hill and the hillside neighborhoods off Kennedy Road. Mountain addresses on long private roads take a little more planning, so share your full address and any access notes when you book.
We live on a steep, gated Los Gatos hillside. Can the van get to us?
Usually, yes. The van needs a reasonably level, legal place to park, which might be a turnout at the top of your driveway, a pad near the garage or a spot on the street below. Tell us about the gate, the grade and any tight turns when you book, and we agree on the spot before the groomer drives up.
My dog comes back from St. Joseph's Hill covered in burrs. Can you deal with that?
Yes. Burrs and grass seeds come out during the brush-out, and the groomer checks ears and between the toes, where foxtails like to hide. If a coat is badly tangled around burrs, a shorter trim can be kinder than a long detangle. Your groomer talks it through with you first, never decides it for you.
